From those modest beginnings, Turner & Townsend has grown into the global leader in program, project and cost and commercial management.
Our journey has been shaped by bold steps, continuous innovation and a shared belief in the power of collaboration. Where others see complexity, we’ve always seen opportunity – a mindset that has driven our evolution into a global business.
In 1956, we became Turner & Townsend.
By 1982, we took the first step towards becominga global business, opening an office in Johannesburg.
The 1990s saw us expand across Asia and deepen our presence in Africa, adding five new offices to our network.
By the 2000s, we established operations in the Americas and Australia, achieving a presence on six continents.
Today, we're majority-owned by CBRE Group Inc., the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm.
In January 2025, we reached a defining moment by combining with CBRE Project Management.
The integration expands our team to more than 22,000 people operating from over 60 countries, making us the global market leader in independent program, project and cost and commercial management.
Our business is unmatched in its scale, breadth of capabilities and access to expertise and talent.
What we do
We work alongside our clients to deliver major programs across real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources. We focus on the outcomes and helping to make a real difference to people’s lives.
Cost and commercial management
We help clients protect and maximise their investments through strong cost planning and rigorous financial control from day one. Drawing on our global cost intelligence and deep market insight, we set and manage robust financial baselines. With technology embedded in our approach, we deliver the visibility and productivity needed to achieve exceptional outcomes.
Project management
From the first business case through to completion and transition into operation, we take full accountability for performance and delivery. We tailor our approach to every project’s complexity, bringing expertise in construction management, logistics, risk, stakeholder engagement and scheduling to consistently deliver high performance.
Project controls
Successful delivery demands full integration of cost, scope, risk and schedule. Our project controls capabilities bring everything together into a single, achievable performance baseline. This gives clients clear insight, early warnings and the confidence that risks are being managed and performance is being protected.
Advisory
We shape strategies, governance models and business cases that secure the best return on investment. By developing high‑performing delivery models and integrated platforms, we help clients achieve outcomes that outperform industry benchmarks.
