We are seeking a passionate and professional English Tutor (Years 7–11) to join our teaching team. The role focuses on preparing students for Selective School Tests, Scholarship Exams, Selective Classes, NAPLAN, and ATAR assessments.

Teaching Structure

Each class typically consists of two parts:

• First Hour: Intensive exam-focused essay writing and analytical writing practice, aligned with selective and scholarship exam requirements.

• Second Hour: Critical thinking and research-based learning, where students explore a wide range of fields such as current affairs, artificial intelligence, science & technology, medicine, literature, and law. Lessons incorporate case studies, reading analysis, and group discussions, helping students build advanced reasoning, research skills, and critical perspectives.

All teaching content, lesson guidelines, and supporting materials are provided by Unie Education. Tutors are only expected to plan around the prepared materials and deliver engaging lessons.

Required Skills & Experience

• Completion of Year 12 in Australia (e.g., VCE, HSC, IB or equivalent), ensuring a deep understanding of the Australian curriculum and exam system.

• Strong knowledge of selective school entry tests, scholarship exams, and OC/selective classes.

• Minimum of 1 year teaching or tutoring experience in English.

• Native English speaker with excellent command of written and spoken English.

• Demonstrated ability in classroom management, lesson planning, and differentiation strategies.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage students in discussion, debate, and higher-order thinking.

• A responsible, reliable, and professional team player.

• Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).

• Qualified teacher OR currently completing a relevant qualification in primary/secondary education.

• Certificate III/IV in Education Support OR a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in English or related field.
