About Ultra Community OT

Ultra Community OT provides person-centred occupational therapy services to children and adults with developmental, neurological, psychosocial and functional support needs, including NDIS participants.

Our team works collaboratively with clients, families, support coordinators, educators, support workers and other allied health professionals. We aim to improve each client’s independence, participation and quality of life through practical, evidence-informed interventions.

About the Role

We are seeking a caring, organised and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. The position is available under either of the following arrangements:

• Full-time employee: $40–$50 per hour plus superannuation, depending on experience
• Independent subcontractor: from $50 per hour, negotiable depending on experience, availability and caseload

The successful applicant will provide occupational therapy services across home, school, clinic and community settings. Applications from both experienced Occupational Therapists and graduate Occupational Therapists are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments and identify clients’ functional strengths, needs and goals
• Develop person-centred intervention plans and practical therapy strategies
• Provide interventions addressing daily living skills, fine and gross motor development, sensory processing, emotional regulation and community participation
• Complete functional assessments, progress reports, therapy plans and other relevant clinical documentation
• Provide recommendations relating to assistive technology, environmental modifications and daily routines where appropriate
• Work collaboratively with clients, families, support coordinators, educators and other professionals
• Delegate suitable therapy activities to Allied Health Assistants and provide appropriate guidance when required
• Maintain accurate, timely and professional case notes and records
• Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and professional development
• Deliver services in accordance with professional standards, organisational policies and NDIS requirements

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility to obtain registration before commencing work
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Current Working with Children Check
• National Police Check
• Professional indemnity and public liability insurance for subcontractors
• Australian Business Number for subcontractors
• Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for community visits
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team
• Commitment to person-centred, ethical and evidence-informed practice

Desirable Attributes

• Experience working with NDIS participants
• Experience in paediatric, adult disability, mental health or community-based occupational therapy
• Experience completing functional capacity assessments and NDIS reports
• Ability to communicate in an additional language
• Strong time management and clinical documentation skills

Remuneration

Full-time employee: $40–$50 per hour plus superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience.

Independent subcontractor: from $50 per hour, negotiable depending on experience, availability, responsibilities and caseload.
