The Programme

The Engineering and Technology team is at the core of the Shopee platform development. The team is made up of a group of passionate engineers from all over the world, striving to build the best systems with the most suitable technologies.  

Our engineers do not merely solve problems at hand; We build foundations for a long-lasting future. We don't limit ourselves to what we can or can't do; we take matters into our own hands even if it means drilling down to the bottom layer of the computing platform.

About the Team:

Shopee will be prioritizing applicants who have a current right to work in Singapore, and do not require Shopee sponsorship of a visa.

The Marketplace Buyer team maintains services that empower the core e-commerce business of Shopee. Its scope spans across buyer and seller facing features, covering the entire journey from account registration to order fulfillment.  

As one of the most critical pillars of the Shopee ecosystem, the Marketplace Buyer team owns systems that serve hundreds of millions of users across the globe and handle millions of transactions on a daily basis. Being built with modern architecture and in a distributed environment, these mission-critical services receive high traffic, require high performance, and deliver high impact to the business.  

As the owner of these services, we constantly work on solving interesting and challenging problems to deliver a better and smoother shopping experience to customers worldwide. 

What You Will Do

• Responsible for front-end development of various core business features.
• Deliver world-class user experiences to millions of global users.
• Write clean and maintainable code, and optimize code to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Recent graduates with a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Familiar with at least one programming language (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C++, Java, etc.).
• Solid understanding of computer fundamentals.
• Demonstrate passion for front-end development.
• Good collaborator and team player. 

Good To Have:

• Familiar with web application development and have experience in TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or other frontend languages.
• Familiar with a modern web framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue).
