Traralgon College is a vibrant educational community situated in the picturesque Latrobe Valley, on the lands of the Gunai Kurnai people.

Traralgon is nestled between the beaches of East Gippsland, and the Strzelecki and Baw Baw ranges approximately 165km to the South East of Melbourne. 

The township itself is Gippsland's largest city lying at the intersection of many of Gippsland's recreations activities and adventures. Characterised by beautiful gardens and spacious parklands it is the region's entertainment capital as the home of the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre. It also has state of the art sporting infrastructure such as the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre. Traralgon is spoilt for choice when it comes to first rate dining and shopping options.

With an enrolment of over 1000 students and 140 staff the college boasts two campuses approximately 4kms apart. Out Year 7-8 Shakespeare Street Campus, hosting 300 of our students and our Year 9-12 Grey Street Campus, hosting over 700 of our students.

With a diverse learning community drawn from across Traralgon and the surrounding smaller towns of Latrobe Valley, we are committed to developing confident, successful leaners and citizens. Selection Criteria - Graduates

SC1    Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the capacity to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated capacity to respond to student learning needs.

SC2    Demonstrated capacity to implement high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth. 

SC3    Demonstrated capacity to monitor and assess student learning. Demonstrated capacity to use data to inform teaching practice and to provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.

SC4    Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement.    

SC5    Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Demonstrated capacity to reflect upon practice and engage in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.
