Location Profile
The Marong Primary School vision is as follows "to help prepare our students for their future". The school has three core values which underpin our overall vision for our students: Respect, Responsibility and Honesty. Our values are displayed across the school and are woven into daily life at Marong Primary School. The school has weekly 'Students of the Week" awards that are presented to a student from each class who has demonstrated one or more of the values during the previous week. The school has embraced a school wide positive behaviour approach regarding student discipline and our Values are a vital component of our SWPBs program.
The school has the following workforce composition in place to address our overall educational goals, 1 principal, 1 assistant principal, 11 classroom teachers, 4 specialist teachers, a disability and inclusion coordinator and an intervention / tutor initiative teacher. Classroom teachers are supported by 11 education support staff. We have a business manager and an Outside School Hours Care program coordinator, a chaplain and grounds keeper.
The school currently has 229 students. The school is located 15 kilometres from the city of Bendigo and is a rapidly growing community with numerous housing estates having been constructed in recent years. Following a major building upgrade in 2021/2022 the school now has excellent facilities that are greatly appreciated by staff and students. The parent community and wider community recognize the quality of our facilities, and we receive regular positive feedback regarding our school. A major landscaping project has also added to the aesthetics of the school thus providing inviting and interesting outdoor play areas for the students.
