Wodonga South Primary School, integrated with the vibrant Southern Rise Children's Centre, is looking for passionate educators to join our thriving community! Our dynamic site, known as Southern Rise Education Centre, with 420 students in 2025 across 19 engaging class groups, including 2 Foundation classes, 5 Year 1/2s, 6 Year 3/4s, and 6 Year 5/6s.

Our innovative collaborative planning model, led by a dedicated Leading Teacher, and our Co-Teaching approach ensure that every educator works in a supportive and enriching environment. Together, we create and deliver outstanding classroom programs, supported by specialist teachers in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, the Kindness Project, and Physical Education.

 

Our close-knit relationship with Southern Rise Children's Centre, which includes Maternal and Child Health services, Long Day Care, Playgroups, and 3- and 4-year-old Preschool Programs. We pride ourselves on smooth transitions and strong communication between our Preschool and school communities.

 

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all students, guided by our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SW-PBS) program. This dedication to inclusion and differentiation ensures every child receives the attention and support they need to succeed.

Selection Criteria - Graduates

SC1    Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the capacity to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated capacity to respond to student learning needs.

SC2    Demonstrated capacity to implement high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth. 

SC3    Demonstrated capacity to monitor and assess student learning. Demonstrated capacity to use data to inform teaching practice and to provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.

SC4    Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement.    

SC5    Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Demonstrated capacity to reflect upon practice and engage in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.
