Graduate Teacher Program - Riverbend Primary School

Location Profile

Riverbend Primary School is located at the intersection of Communal Road and Tathra Road in Wyndham Vale, 40kms from Melbourne, in the rapidly growing City of Wyndham.  The school consists of three learning neighbourhoods, an administration building, outdoor play courts, a performing arts and physical education building and a sports field.

Riverbend Primary School  is an supported inclusion school. This means the school has been designed to support a higher number of students with a disability than a typical mainstream school. Supported inclusion schools mean that more students, regardless of ability, are able to attend their local neighbourhood school whilst still receiving the support and facilities they require to achieve their very best. All students benefit when children of various abilities and backgrounds learn together in an inclusive education setting. Benefits to students extend beyond the classroom when they are in an environment that reflects a wide diversity of abilities. Riverbend Primary School provides a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

At Riverbend Primary School we ensure that our students are at the centre of everything that we do.  We create a learning community that values diversity, inclusion and high expectations for all students which results in excellence for everyone. Our collective responsibility is to ensure that our students leave our school as well-rounded, critical and creative thinkers who value lifelong learning and who are resilient, respectful and kind citizens.
