Graduate Teacher Program - Generalist - Landsborough Primary School

Location Profile

Landsborough Primary School is located at the foothills of the Pyrenees Ranges. It is part of the innovative and progressive Pyrenees Cluster which comprises 6 small rural schools (Landsborough, Moonambel, Navarre, Natte Yallock, Amphitheatre, Trawalla)

The school's core focus is to encourage students to become independent, lifelong learners. We achieve this by creating a learning environment where our students can become risk-takers, independent learners as well as socially-aware members of the community. Landsborough Primary School has in place enviable learning programs and teaching resources which enable its students to continue their growth.

The school has a mobile library van (MARC) that visits fortnightly. The students learn AUSLAN in their Languages Program and this is taught at a local level by the classroom teachers. A kitchen garden runs weekly with students growing, then cooking, their own produce. Full Steam Ahead cluster Days are run fortnightly. This gives students from the 6 cluster schools the opportunity to meet and socialise with students from other small schools and learn in 4 specialist areas, Art, PE, Music and Digital Technologies. Other opportunities include camps, excursions and incursions.

The school operates 1 classroom for its 10 students (three Foundation, one grade 1, two grade 3, two grade 4, one grade 5 and one grade 6 students) and has many extracurricular activities such as Cluster Days, a Swim program, camps, local excursions, concert and cluster/division/regional sport. Landsborough Primary School also have one-to-one computers and iPads and video-conferencing to enhance student learning.
