Joining the AustralianSuper 2026/27 Intern Program offers you an exciting opportunity to build a career with a growing global financial services organisation. Based in our Melbourne office, you will be exposed to a variety of our teams and start to develop the required capabilities and skills to help our members achieve the best possible retirement outcomes.   

Your new role 

AustralianSuper interns are offered unrivalled exposure to our award-winning teams, with the opportunity to work on real world projects and initiatives, whilst gaining exposure to senior business leaders.   

Working alongside high-performing colleagues across the Fund, you will be inspired daily by the challenging and fulfilling work of improving financial outcomes of members. You will build relationships with, and learn from, leaders in all areas of the Fund, establishing a comprehensive understanding of how our business groups come together.    

As a Finance intern, you will gain exposure to the teams that support the Fund's strategy, performance and financial stewardship. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to analyse financial and business performance, support forecasting, reporting and control activities, and contribute insights that help inform decision-making across the organisation. 

Joining for 12 weeks from 30 November 2026 – 19 February 2027, you will build your analytical, commercial and problem-solving capabilities while developing an understanding of how finance supports the operations, governance and strategic priorities of a large and complex organisation.  

Through hands-on experience, you will gain exposure to the financial management, risk and governance frameworks that underpin one of Australia's largest superannuation funds and help deliver strong outcomes for members. 

As part of the Finance function, you will gain experience across one or more of the following areas: Financial Control, Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance Business Partnering, Governance & Accountability, Tax, Third Party Governance & Sourcing, and Valuations & Portfolio Reporting. 

What you’ll need    

  • A genuine interest in understanding how finance supports the performance, governance and long-term sustainability of one of Australia's largest superannuation funds 
  • A desire to build a career in areas such as financial analysis, business partnering, financial planning and analysis, reporting, governance, tax, valuation or commercial decision support 
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong analytical capability and the ability to solve complex problems using data, research and critical thinking 
  • A growth mindset, with excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills 
  • Adaptability and learning agility, with the ability to contribute effectively to high-performing teams 
  • Alignment with our member-first philosophy and a commitment to our values of Energy, Integrity, Generosity of Spirit and Excellent Outcomes 
  • Be in your final or penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline, whether that be in Actuarial Studies, Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Economics, or another field of study. 
  • Be available to participate in the 12-week Intern Program from 30 November 2026 to 19 February 2027 
  • Be able to commence full-time employment from January / February 2028 (2028 Graduate Program) 
  • Be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
