We are seeking a passionate and driven intern to support our WHS Health & Wellbeing team, with a focus on preventing psychosocial risks and enhancing mental health strategies across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating workplace mental health and wellbeing initiatives in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.
Key job responsibilities
• Analyse data and organisational insights to identify psychosocial risk factors and develop tailored mental health interventions across business units and job levels.
• Support the design and implementation of occupational health programs, including health and wellbeing initiatives, injury prevention, return-to-work strategies, and overall employee wellbeing.
• Assist in developing and enhancing escalation pathways for mental health support, ensuring alignment with internal policies, regional regulations, and best practices.
• Contribute to internal research projects on health and wellbeing, focusing on industry-specific risk and protective factors.
• Assess and recommend wellbeing strategies using evidence-based models, considering complex factors that influence individuals, teams, and organizational culture.
• Help coordinate and support the rollout of health and wellbeing initiatives and governance processes across operation sites in Australia.
Please note: To be eligible for this internship program, you will need to be available for the full internship period from 1 Dec 2025 - 20 Feb 2026. This role is based in Melbourne and will require the commitment of successful candidate to be based in Melbourne for the duration of the internship.
• Current penultimate year student (graduating in 2026) pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Behavioural Science, Allied Health, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of workplace safety and industrial relations legislation, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practical settings.
• Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to support change initiatives effectively.
• Training or accreditation in relevant frameworks or tools (e.g., Mental Health First Aid, risk assessment, trauma-informed approaches).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, think analytically, and customer focus skills.
